State Secretary of International Development Cooperation of Swedish visited RHSTEP, DMCH Centre

The State Secretary of International Development Cooperation of Sweden Ms. Hanna Hellquist visited RHSTEP Centre at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on November 3, 2011. She visited different parts of the centre and showed keen interest about different services and activities of RHSTEP there. After the visit she commented that RHSTEP is doing excellent job in regard to SRHR in DMCH. She also hoped to visit again in Bangladesh and RHSTEP as well. Earlier she met the Director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital Brigadier General S hahidul Haque Mallik and discussed about services and quality issues of DMCH. She also discussed about challenges of DMCH. The Director informed her about DMCH services and also informed her about the challenges of DMCH. At the discussion the hospital Director also mentioned that RHSTEP is working as partner of Government of Bangladesh in providing special health care services which is highly contributing in reducing MMR and creating awareness on SRHR in the country. Before leaving the centre the visiting State Secretary of Sweden wrote comments in the Guest book of RHSTEP, DMCH.

The visiting Swedish State Secretary was accompanied by H.E. Ambassador of Sweden Ms. Anneli Lindahl Kenny; Counselor of Swedish Embassy Ms. Ylva Sörman Nath; Program Officer (Health) of Sida Dr. Mohammad Zahirul Islam and some of her collegues from Sweden.
