RHSTEP Participates in CDD’s 30th Anniversary Summit on Disability Inclusion
As part of the 30-year celebration of the Centre for Disability in Development (CDD), a summit on “Empowering Children and Youths with Disabilities through Meaningful Participation and Inclusion” was organized to highlight the importance of meaningful participation, accessibility, and inclusion of children and youths with disabilities.
Dr. Elvina Mustary, Joint Director – Program, RHSTEP, participated in the summit, representing RHSTEP and contributing to the discussions on advancing inclusive approaches for children and youths with disabilities.
The summit brought together representatives from different organizations, development partners, and stakeholders working to promote the rights, dignity, participation, and inclusion of persons with disabilities. Discussions emphasized the importance of creating accessible and supportive environments where children and youths with disabilities can actively participate in decisions and initiatives that affect their lives.
The event also highlighted the significance of strengthening inclusive health, education, social protection, and community-based initiatives to ensure that children and youths with disabilities have equal opportunities to develop their potential and contribute meaningfully to society.
The celebration of CDD’s 30 years of work in advancing disability inclusion and empowerment provided an opportunity to reflect on achievements, share experiences, and reinforce the collective commitment toward building a more inclusive and equitable society.
RHSTEP remains committed to promoting inclusive, equitable, and rights-based health and development initiatives and to ensuring the meaningful participation of people with disabilities in programs and interventions that contribute to healthier and more inclusive communities.
