RHSTEP’s SRHR Initiatives, Challenges and Way Forward
On 14 September 2026, a meeting on “RHSTEP’s SRHR Initiatives, Challenges and Way Forward” was successfully held at the DGHS Conference Room in Dhaka, bringing together senior representatives from DGHS, DGFP, DGME, development partners, and RHSTEP.
The meeting focused on key priorities in Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) in Bangladesh, including ongoing initiatives, key challenges, and future opportunities for collaboration. The discussion provided an important platform for exchanging perspectives and identifying practical approaches to strengthen SRHR interventions.
During the meeting, RHSTEP presented its ongoing programs and a research study on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), which generated valuable feedback, observations, and recommendations from government representatives and other participants.
The discussion emphasized the importance of strengthening government–NGO collaboration, expanding access to quality and equitable health services, and identifying practical approaches to ensure greater benefits for women, adolescents, and communities across Bangladesh.
Participants also exchanged views on future interventions, policy support, research utilization, and evidence-based strategies to contribute to improved public health outcomes and stronger SRHR services.
RHSTEP remains committed to working closely with government authorities and development partners to advance equitable, quality, and rights-based sexual and reproductive health services for all.
