A special awareness program was held today at Neelkhet High School aimed at ensuring the overall well-being of adolescents. The main theme of the program was “Adolescents’ Physical and Mental Health and Digital Addiction Awareness.”
The session focused on various important aspects of adolescent health, including awareness of the risks of digital addiction, control of screen time, and the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle through balanced nutrition, regular exercise, and adequate sleep. The discussion also highlighted how excessive digital usage can negatively impact both physical and mental well-being.
In addition, the program covered key topics related to adolescent development, including normal hormonal changes during puberty, emotional and behavioral changes, the relationship between reproductive and mental health, the importance of dispelling myths surrounding menstruation, and relevant awareness on nocturnal emissions.
The program was facilitated and conducted by Senior Program Officer Akhtanin Khayer Tanin, Program Officers Zubaida Anjum Saba and Tanzina Sultana, Hojayfa Sakwan, Communication Officer Suraiya Jannat Sumi, and Trainer (Multimedia) Ahadul Siraj.
Approximately 30 secondary-level students from Neelkhet High School, along with several teachers, actively participated in the session.
The program successfully created awareness among adolescents regarding physical, mental, and digital well-being, reinforcing RHSTEP–UYP’s commitment to adolescent health education and responsible digital practices.
