About RHSTEP

RHSTEP has evolved through a gradual process of government of Bangladesh. In 1983, the Government of Bangladesh formally established the Menstrual Regulation Training and Services Program (MRTSP) as a special project under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW). In 1989 MRTSP was transformed into an NGO with its limited activities. Considering the increasing need of other reproductive health care, MRTSP stepped forward in 2002 with multifaceted services and a new name "Reproductive Health Services Training and Education Program - RHSTEP".

About RHSTEP

RHSTEP is registered under Social Welfare Registration Act, 1961 with the Department of Social Welfare, (Registration no - DHA - 02459, dated 05 August 1990); NGO Affairs Bureau of the Government of Bangladesh, (Registration no - 430, dated 09 January 1991). RHSTEP also approved by the Directorate of Family Planning, Government of Bangladesh (No-A-111/97, dated 13 October 1997) for its family planning services.

RHSTEP is a highly regarded training organization when it comes to the matter of championing SRHR training in both clinical and non-clinical spheres. Being the pioneer in MR training provision, RHSTEP has trained approximately, 12,000 Doctors, 13,000 FWV, SACMO, Paramedic, Nurses, and Midwives to promote better sexual and reproductive health practices. Currently, RHSTEP is operating its training activities in 13 training centers across the country with highly efficient clinical trainers.

RHSTEP is present at 21 public hospitals in the country along with a clinic in Gaibandha and a Maternity clinic in Dhaka to render SRH services. By ensuring quality SRH service delivery, RHSTEP has earned huge acknowledgement from the clients as well as from govt. hospital authorities in our catchment areas. Every year approximately 6,00,000 women, men, adolescents and youth are being supported through RHSTEP centers.

RHSTEP emphasizes on disseminating different health and rights related information at clinics, school, community and readymade garments factories in the project areas to improve health service seeking behavior through informed decision making. Along with the outreach activities, RHSTEP established a youth hub named as Alor Dhara Pathsala in 04 districts of the country to mobilize youth for community development.

RHSTEP is committed to improving overall SHR situation of the country by creating an enabling environment. This process includes development of social networking, advocacy with policy makers and other stakeholders to ensure, implement, develop, or change social and country sensitive norms and policies on this regard. RHSTEP has established partnership and network with different like-minded organization and development partners to fulfill its goal and objectives. RHSTEP is regularly initiating different research studies to improve service qualities and contribute in creating new knowledge in the field of SHR.

RHSTEP is also registered from NGO AFFAIRS BUREAU, GOB. RHSTEP is a trusted organization delivering comprehensive reproductive health services, education, and empowerment across Bangladesh with a proven track record since 1983.

As a legally recognized organization, RHSTEP is registered under the Department of Social Services, Ministry of Social Welfare, Government of Bangladesh. The following certificate affirms our compliance with the Voluntary Social Welfare Agencies (Registration and Control) Ordinance, 1961, granting us official authorization to operate as a social welfare institution.
