With the theme “বিজ্ঞানকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে, স্বাস্থ্য সুরক্ষায় একাত্মতা” (Unity in Health Protection with Science), World Health Day 2026 was observed on 7 April 2026 by RHSTEP–Aparajeyo Tarunno (Alor Dhara Pathshala) Sylhet Centre through a discussion session followed by a training program.

The event was organized to raise awareness on health systems and strengthen understanding among advocates, mentors, and peer groups regarding public health structure and service delivery.

Following the discussion session, a specialized training titled “Health System Understanding” was conducted to enhance participants’ knowledge of the healthcare system, its structure, and its practical application in community-level health awareness activities.

The program was attended by distinguished guests including Md. Ashikul Islam, Executive Director of RHSTEP; Nihar Ranjan Das, Unit Manager of RHSTEP Sylhet Unit; Mehedi Hasan, Project Officer of Aparajeyo Tarunno Sylhet; Philip Samaddar, Youth Officer of Alor Dhara Pathshala Sylhet; and Hamida Akter Himu, Junior Youth Officer.

The presence of senior officials and field-level staff enriched the program, providing participants with valuable insights into health systems, community engagement, and the importance of science-based healthcare.

The session successfully strengthened participants’ understanding of health systems and reaffirmed RHSTEP’s commitment to promoting health awareness, youth engagement, and capacity building in the community.
