With the theme “বিজ্ঞানকে সঙ্গে নিয়ে, স্বাস্থ্য সুরক্ষায় একাত্মতা” (Unity in Health Protection with Science), RHSTEP-UYP Chattogram Centre observed World Health Day 2026 by organizing a discussion meeting on 7 April.

The program was chaired by Project Officer Apu Dasgupta of UYP Chattogram Centre and conducted by Youth Officer Annie Chowdhury. The discussion session also included remarks from Mentor Dhrubo Barua, Tofatul Jannat, and Saidur Rahman.

At the beginning of the session, a presentation on the “Health System in Bangladesh” was delivered, providing participants with an overview of the country’s healthcare structure and service delivery system.

During the discussion, speakers emphasized that human, animal, plant, and planetary health are deeply interconnected, and this scientific understanding forms the basis of this year’s theme. They highlighted that climate change impacts and the rising prevalence of zoonotic diseases are creating new public health challenges.

In this context, the speakers stressed that trust in science and coordinated efforts are essential protective measures to address emerging health risks and ensure sustainable public health systems.

The program concluded with a vote of thanks from the chairperson, expressing gratitude to all participants for their active engagement and successful completion of the session.
