On 8 March 2026, International Women’s Day 2026 was celebrated under the initiative of Alor Dhara Pathshala Aparajeyo Tarunno with the strong message that women’s rights and equality must be ensured in every sphere of life.
The day-long celebration featured a variety of engaging and educational activities including a discussion meeting, art exhibition, quiz competition, and debate competition, encouraging active participation from adolescents and young people.
One of the major attractions of the program was the debate competition titled “The Battle of Logic,” where participants presented thoughtful arguments highlighting the relevance and necessity of women’s rights in the modern world. Through the art competition, participants creatively portrayed the struggles, achievements, and present realities of women in society, reflecting both challenges and progress through their artwork.
The quiz competition provided students with an opportunity to learn about the historical journey of women’s empowerment and global movements advocating for equality and justice.
The event also featured insightful discussions on women’s empowerment, equality, and social protection by distinguished speakers including Md. Enamul Haque, Unit Manager of RHSTEP Center; Mst. Asfia Khatun, Project Officer of the UYP Project; and Md. Tajbeul Islam, Youth Officer of the Sida Project.
During the discussion session, the speakers emphasized that the contribution of women to society is immeasurable and that women’s resilience and determination in fighting for their rights are essential for building a just, inclusive, and progressive society.
The program concluded with a renewed commitment to promoting gender equality, empowering women and girls, and inspiring youth to play an active role in creating a more equitable future.
