RHSTEP, through its Aparajeyo Tarunno (Unlocking Youth Potential) Project, celebrated World Women’s Day 2026 in Sylhet with the theme, “আজকের পদক্ষেপ, আগামীর ন্যায়বিচার—সুরক্ষিত হোক নারী ও কন্যার অধিকার” (Today’s Actions for Tomorrow’s Justice—Ensure the Rights and Safety of Women and Girls).

The program brought together students, young people, and organizational members to participate in various awareness activities focused on women’s rights, equality, dignity, and social awareness.

The event was attended by Project Officer Mehedi Hasan of RHSTEP Sylhet Aparajeyo Tarunno Project, Youth Officer Philip Samaddar of Alor Dhara Pathshala, and Mentor Tanzina Begum of the Aparajeyo Tarunno Project. Students from various educational institutions also actively participated in the celebration.

At the beginning of the program, Kulsum Akter Sajeda, Jannatul Ferdous, Tahsin Tabassum Khadija, and Fatema Akter Majeda presented four wall magazines and posters highlighting women’s rights, empowerment, and strength.

During the discussion session, Mentor Tanzina Begum explained the significance of Women’s Day, women’s rights, education, and the importance of ensuring respect and dignity for women in society. Through direct interaction with the students, she effectively communicated the message that ensuring equal rights, safety, and respect for women is a collective responsibility.

In his brief remarks, Philip Samaddar emphasized that establishing equal rights for men and women is essential for social progress. Project Officer Mehedi Hasan also highlighted the importance of ensuring healthcare and medical services for women and encouraged everyone to remain aware and supportive of women’s wellbeing.

In the concluding session, a quiz competition was organized for participating students, creating an enjoyable and educational environment for both participants and the audience. The program concluded successfully through a follow-up quiz competition presented by Mentor Ayesha Begum, reaffirming RHSTEP’s commitment to promoting gender equality, youth engagement, and awareness within the community.
