On 8 March 2026, Aparajeyo Tarunno (UYP) Mymensingh Centre celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 through a series of awareness-building and participatory activities highlighting women’s empowerment and social equality.

The program began with a welcome speech delivered by Youth Officer Sanjoy Chandra Roy, who discussed the history and significance of International Women’s Day and highlighted the contributions of influential women throughout history.

Following the participant introduction session, an interactive discussion was held focusing on the challenges faced by women in contemporary society, the root causes of these challenges, perspectives on social realities, and possible solutions. Participants emphasized the importance of education, freedom of expression within families and workplaces, and self-awareness in addressing social and gender-based inequalities. They also shared that identifying and understanding personal and social challenges is essential to building awareness among future generations.

A “Fact vs Myth” session was later conducted by UYP Mymensingh Centre Mentor Jui, where participants discussed and challenged common misconceptions and stereotypes related to women in society.

To encourage engagement and enjoyment, several indoor games including Pillow Passing, Musical Chairs, and Ball in the Basket were organized for the participating women.

Additionally, a questionnaire session on International Women’s Day was conducted by Mentors Probhat Das and Taiyyeba Al Farzana to evaluate participants’ understanding and awareness regarding women’s rights and empowerment.

The program concluded with closing remarks delivered by Resmina Haque, Project Officer of Aparajeyo Tarunno (UYP) Mymensingh Centre, marking the successful completion of the celebration and reaffirming the organization’s commitment to empowering women and promoting gender equality within the community.
