On 27 October 2025, RHSTEP’s Aparajeyo Tarunno (UYP Project), Rajshahi organized a unique street theatre program titled “Theater for SRHR,” featuring the play “Amra Bodle Jachhi.” The drama highlighted important issues such as adolescent physical and psychological changes, the harmful effects of child marriage, and the importance of health awareness through realistic and engaging storytelling.
The program was chaired by Md. Mamunur Rahman, Unit Manager of RHSTEP Rajshahi Medical, while the Chief Guest was Md. Shamim Ahmed, Secretary of Ward No. 24, Talaimari, Rajshahi. Special guests included Iqbal Hossain, Mentor of the Drama Association at Rajshahi University; Mihir Bhattacharjee, AGM of Grameen Bank; and Enayet Karim, Editor of Uttara Protidin.
The event was hosted by Md. Faridul Islam, Youth Officer of UYP Rajshahi. At the beginning of the program, Dipti Sarkar, Project Officer of UYP Rajshahi, delivered the welcome speech, where she emphasized the importance of addressing adolescent development and preventing child marriage. She stated, “We believe that aware and informed youth can build a safe and equitable society based on equal rights.”
The street drama was staged with the support of the Drama Association and successfully captured the attention of the audience. Through impactful performances, the actors conveyed strong social messages, encouraging community members to become more aware and responsible regarding SRHR issues.
In his closing remarks, the Chairperson Md. Mamunur Rahman appreciated the initiative and highlighted the importance of such awareness programs in creating positive social change. The event concluded successfully, leaving a lasting impact on the audience and reinforcing the role of youth-led initiatives in promoting health awareness and social development.
