On 29 October 2025, Unlocking Youth Potential (UYP Project), an initiative of RHSTEP, organized a public health awareness programme at Mohishbathan Ideal Girls’ High School ground in Rajshahi. The programme aimed to promote community health awareness and provide essential basic health services to students and local residents.
The session was chaired by Mr. Md. Mamunur Rahman, Manager, RHSTEP Rajshahi Medical College. The Chief Guest was Mr. Md. Obaidul Haque, Head Teacher of Mohishbathan Ideal Girls’ High School, Rajshahi. Special guests included Ms. Sanzida Sazzad, Head Teacher of Mohishbathan Government Primary School; a three-member nutritionist team; and a three-member medical technologist team. The programme was also attended by Enayet Karim, Editor of Uttara Pratidin, and Ms. Dipti Sarkar, Project Officer, UYP Project. The overall coordination was led by Mr. Md. Faridul Islam, Youth Officer, UYP Rajshahi.
The campaign provided a range of free health services, including weight measurement, diabetes testing, blood pressure monitoring, blood group determination, and nutrition counselling by professional nutritionists. The voluntary blood group testing support was provided by “Badhan” (Voluntary Blood Donors Organization), Rajshahi College Unit.
In addition, awareness sessions were conducted on balanced diet, healthy lifestyle practices, disease prevention, adolescent health, and child marriage. Mr. Md. Faridul Islam led a dedicated session on adolescence and child marriage for students, while nutritionists conducted interactive discussions on diet and health awareness.
Students, teachers from both schools, and community members from Mohishbathan Colony actively participated in the programme and received health services. The Chief Guest and other distinguished guests jointly inaugurated the event, visited the service booths, and appreciated the initiative taken by UYP. They also expressed their willingness to support similar public welfare programmes in the future.
