On 11 November 2025, Aparajeyo Tarunno (UYP Project) Chattogram Centre organized a “Theatre for SRHR” awareness programme in the Majhirghat Kachareli community. The event featured a street drama titled “Amra Bodle Jachhi,” which conveyed important social and health messages through engaging storytelling.
The drama highlighted key issues such as adolescent physical and psychological changes, the harmful impacts of child marriage and drug abuse, and the importance of health awareness. These themes were presented through real-life scenarios, making the performance relatable and impactful for the audience.
At the beginning of the programme, Project Officer Mr. Apu Dashgupta addressed the audience, emphasizing that youth represent a significant portion of the population with both immense potential and critical challenges. He stressed the importance of ensuring equal access to opportunities and removing barriers that hinder adolescent development, particularly in accessing healthcare services. He also highlighted that without adequate support from family, society, and institutions, young people are at risk of negative influences, and initiatives like this awareness theatre can serve as a guiding force for the younger generation.
The street drama was directed by Youth Officer Ms. Annie Chowdhury, while the programme was facilitated by Mentor Ms. Toifatul Jannat Putul. The event was attended and enjoyed by hundreds of adolescents and community members of different age groups, including local leaders, teachers, and parents.
The performance created a strong impact among the audience, effectively delivering awareness messages and encouraging positive attitudes towards adolescent health, social responsibility, and community wellbeing.
