On 30 October 2025, Aparajeyo Tarunno (UYP) Barishal Centre organized a day-long “Health Advocacy Campaign-01” at the premises of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Secondary School. The programme aimed to enhance community health awareness while providing essential medical services to participants.
At the beginning of the campaign, UYP volunteers supported participants by measuring weight and height and conducting a health-related questionnaire to assess awareness levels and identify key health concerns.
Throughout the day, experienced healthcare professionals and service providers delivered a range of essential services. Community Paramedic Ms. Bithika Bose conducted blood grouping tests, while Senior Staff Nurse Ms. Tripti Biswas carried out diabetes screenings. Dr. Monisha Chakraborty provided medical consultations along with counseling on nutrition and mental health.
Additionally, Dr. Tawhid Hossain (MOMCH-FP, Upazila Family Planning Office) and Dr. Shah Adnan (MBBS, DU; PGT in Medicine, South Apollo Medical College and Hospital) offered consultations and guidance on general health conditions and common medical issues.
Free medicines were distributed to all patients receiving services during the campaign. As part of the health awareness initiative, sanitary napkins were also distributed among adolescent girls to promote menstrual hygiene management.
The programme concluded with closing remarks from Project Officer Ms. Salma Khanam, who officially declared the successful completion of the campaign.
