On 16 November 2025, Aparajeyo Tarunno (UYP) Rajshahi Centre organized an inspiring discussion session titled “Webinar with Alumni,” with the participation of 32 adolescents from Mohishbathan Adarsha Balika High School, Rajshahi Alor Pathshala, Terokhadia Colony, and Talaimari Colony.
The session was chaired by Project Officer Ms. Dipti Sarkar and facilitated by Youth Officer Mr. Md. Faridul Islam. At the beginning of the programme, participants shared that their involvement in UYP’s regular activities has brought positive changes in their sense of responsibility toward personal life, family, and community.
They emphasized that their understanding of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), menstrual hygiene, safe motherhood, prevention of child marriage, gender equality, eve-teasing, and cyber safety has significantly improved. Many participants noted that they previously felt hesitant and uncomfortable discussing such topics due to lack of proper knowledge and prevailing social stigma. However, the safe and supportive learning environment created by UYP has enabled them to openly discuss these issues, enhance their knowledge, and share awareness with others.
Participants further highlighted that they are now more confident in addressing topics related to adolescence, personal hygiene, and health-related decision-making—areas they once avoided discussing. Community representatives also shared that they have gained better understanding of safe motherhood, maternal care, and health risks, allowing them to move beyond misconceptions and promote accurate, science-based information within their communities.
Youth Officer Mr. Md. Faridul Islam provided guidance based on participants’ questions and shared experiences, enriching the discussion further.
The session concluded with closing remarks from Project Officer Ms. Dipti Sarkar, who acknowledged the programme as impactful and formally declared its successful completion.
