RHSTEP’s Aparajeyo Tarunno, Chattogram formed a 12-member Youth Health Council on 15 September 2026 to strengthen youth leadership, health awareness, and community-level advocacy.
The session was chaired by Apu Dasgupta, Project Officer, UYP Chattogram, who opened the program with a PowerPoint presentation. Discussions were led by Jasim Uddin, Head Teacher of Haji Abdul Ali City Corporation School, Annie Chowdhury, Youth Officer, and Saidur Rahman, Mentor.
The newly formed council appointed Saidur Rahman as Convener and Jannatul Ferdous Sweety as Member Secretary. The council will provide a platform for young people to take an active role in promoting health awareness and positive social change at school and community levels.
The session highlighted the importance of youth engagement in addressing issues such as dengue prevention, climate change impacts, adolescent health risks, and cyberbullying. Speakers emphasized that health awareness is closely linked to building a safe, inclusive, and sustainable society, with young people playing an important role in community-level advocacy and action.
