On 18 November 2025, Aparajeyo Tarunno UYP Chattogram Centre organized an Alumni Conference, bringing together youth leaders who had actively participated in various awareness-raising initiatives over the past eleven months. The programme created a platform for alumni to share their experiences, learning outcomes, and reflections on their engagement with UYP activities.
The session was facilitated by Youth Officer Ms. Annie Chowdhury. Key discussions were delivered by Project Officer Mr. Apu Dashgupta of UYP Chattogram Centre, Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services, Chattogram District Mr. Jasim Uddin, and teacher Mr. Kazi Sayed Rana.
Speakers highlighted that over the past year, UYP has implemented adolescent SRHR awareness programmes across schools and communities in Chattogram, particularly focusing on adolescents going through puberty. These initiatives helped young people address long-standing questions related to health, reduce hesitation and stigma, and improve their understanding of personal and reproductive health.
The discussions also emphasized the broader community impact, noting that parents, men, and women have benefited from awareness activities. Furthermore, UYP’s inclusive approach—engaging persons with disabilities, marginalized communities including indigenous groups and the third gender—was acknowledged as a significant step toward social inclusion. Participants also reflected on the role of watchdog groups and theatre-based interventions in identifying and addressing social issues and irregularities.
The conference concluded with group photographs, marking the successful completion of the programme.
