RHSTEP’s Aparajeyo Tarunno (UYP) project organized a two-day “Training on Climate Change and SRHR” on 7–8 September 2026 at the Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB), Sreepur, Gazipur, highlighting the links between climate change and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).
The training opened with welcome remarks from Md. Ashiqul Islam, Executive Director, RHSTEP, and Mohammad Abu Raihan, Project Manager, Aparajeyo Tarunno. Bushra Hasan, Networking and Knowledge Management Officer (Mitigation), facilitated a guided learning experience as part of the program.
Participants visited the CCDB Climate Centre, where they explored practical adaptation and mitigation initiatives designed for climate-vulnerable areas, including coastal, char, haor, and drought-prone regions. The visit showcased innovative approaches involving renewable energy, water conservation, sustainable agriculture, waste management, and climate-resilient infrastructure, while highlighting their relevance to local livelihoods, health, and safety.
The training also explored the interconnectedness of climate change, water, food, health, sanitation, safe environments, and SRHR. The practical experience encouraged participants to consider how climate resilience and SRHR can be integrated into community-level initiatives and advocacy.
The workshop concluded with a call for collective action to reduce inequality and promote climate justice and inclusive community resilience.
